Established 2009, Borders School of Dance holds classes in Galashiels, Lauder, St Boswells, Melrose & Blainslie.
We offer classes in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Acro, Musical Theare, Contemporary & Commercial styles from 2.5years to adults.
Dance is about more than learning to move. The magic of dance is in it’s ability to boost self esteem, independence and resilience and build life-long friendships from tiny tots to adults.
Borders school of dance is fully devoted to providing dancers of all ages and levels with a welcoming and encouraging environment where they can grow and learn.
Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and Commercial from 2.5 years to adults. All students have the opportunity to take part in our yearly Christmas Showcase, and our extra special bi-annual themed Show.

Miss Louise has been dancing since the age of three, training in Ballet, Modern, Scottish, Contemporary, Tap, and Street Dance. She has performed in numerous pantomimes, theatre productions, fashion shows, and trade events, and has also choreographed for solo artists and groups in both England and Japan.
Passionate about injury prevention and rehabilitation, Louise holds several dance and fitness qualifications. These include her ISTD Associate Diploma, Pilates certification, BBO Level 5 Ballet, Acrobatic Arts qualification, and a BA Honours in Performing Arts.
Miss Louise is dedicated to lifelong learning and best teaching practices. She loves sharing her knowledge, passion, and love for dance with all students at Borders School of Dance.
Miss Holly
Miss Holly discovered her love for dance at a young age, studying ballet, modern, and tap. At seventeen, she moved north to train full-time at Ballet West Scotland, where she focused on classical technique and also trained in contemporary, commercial, and choreography.
During her three years at Ballet West, she performed with the touring company in productions such as Swan Lake. Holly graduated with First Class Honours and returned to Edinburgh to focus on teaching. She also holds a Master’s in Dance Science and Education from the University of Edinburgh and an Acrobatic Arts certification.
Holly is thrilled to be part of Borders School of Dance. She loves helping students grow in skill, confidence, and joy in every class.
Miss Rachael
Miss Rachael has loved dancing since she was three years old and has never stopped. After leaving school, she joined Dance For All Theatre School, entering directly into second year. She graduated with an HND in Professional Stage Dance and ISTD Teaching qualifications in Modern and Tap.
Rachael’s professional career has taken her around the world. She danced for TUI Magic Life in Crete and Ibiza, worked as Dance Captain in Cyprus, and performed for Disneyland Paris in shows and parades for over two years.
She is excited to be part of Borders School of Dance and to share her professional experience with the next generation of dancers.
Miss Rach
Miss Rach began dancing at the age of five with Miss Louise at Southside School of Dance, our sister school. She trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Acro, Contemporary, and Commercial before moving into full-time training at Dance For All Theatre School. There, she earned her HND in Professional Stage Dance and began working on her ISTD Diploma in Dance Education.
Rach has worked professionally in resorts in Cyprus, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and is now on the books for Disney Cruises. She also holds her Acrotrix qualification and loves inspiring the next generation at Borders School of Dance.
Miss Megan
Miss Megan has been dancing since she was a toddler and loved it so much she pursued full-time training at Dance For All College. She gained her HND in Professional Stage Dance and later performed in Egypt, Jordan, New York, and across the UK, all while achieving her Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
A fun fact: Megan was part of a cheerleading team for Scotland’s rugby team and even performed for Sir Billy Connolly in New York City!
Megan joined Borders School of Dance in November 2024. She now runs our admin and is the first point of contact for parents and students.
Miss Olivia
Miss Olivia started dancing at the age of three at Southside School of Dance and quickly fell in love with performing. She earned her BA (Hons) in Dance Performance from Preston College and completed her I.D Contemporary teacher training with Ryan Jenkins.
Olivia is passionate about teaching and choreography and is currently working towards her ISTD DDE Modern qualification. She is excited to inspire and support students at Borders School of Dance.
